Terrigal is a beautiful beachside town on the Central Coast of NSW. When you stay in Terrigal there is no shortage of things to do.

Surrounded by rolling hills, pristine beaches are just steps away from shops, cafes, restaurants and bars in this picturesque coastal destination.

With a population of just under 15,000 people and a land area of 10 square kilometres and it is just 12 kilometres from Gosford.  If you’re heading up the coast for a day or two then you’ve found your perfect spot!

Where to stay?

There are great options if you want to stay overnight with plenty of Terrigal accommodation options. Anything from luxury accommodation through to camping spots dotted along the shoreline, it’s all here.

The businesses here comprise of both local businesses as well as those that only exist to serve visitors from out of town – and there are plenty! I can’t think of any other place on the Central Coast of Australia where you’ll find such an amazing range of restaurants, bars, shopping, local attractions, and amazing things to do.

Visitors will notice a relaxed, small-town atmosphere making it very popular with families who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Just under an hour’s drive north along the M1 from Wahroonga, it also attracts people from Sydney looking for an affordable holiday destination that doesn’t compromise on quality or convenience.

Where is Terrigal?

Terrigal’s position, between Brisbane Waters National Park and The Entrance (just a 20 minutes drive away), ensures great views are never too far away from wherever you are in the area.

One of the first things that you will notice as you drive into Terrigal is the beach. It’s a beautiful sandy beach ideal for walking or just relaxing. At the eastern end, you will find an ocean rock pool, great for kids.

While you’re there check out the recent upgrades to the Terrigal Boardwalk. It’s a must and offers a great vantage point to take in our stunning coastline.

Sun, Sand & Surf

The beach is a great place to relax. If getting down on the sand isn’t an option for you there are plenty of places to sit and relax. Grab a table at Terrigal Surf Club cafe. Situated right on the beach at Terrigal where I guarantee you there is something different to see each day and even each hour!

If you are looking to relocate to the Central Coast, Terrigal is a great central option to explore other nearby suburbs over a weekend or a few days. If you’re looking for a quiet beachside lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle check out North Avoca, Avoca Beach or Wamberal.

Just like Terrigal, these suburbs are all beachside locations and great for surfing, fishing, and other water activities. All offer unique experiences depending on what you enjoy most. And if you’d like some help from a Terrigal real estate agent I happen to know a few 🙂

Remember:

When engaging in water activities be sure to check conditions before heading out – they change quickly in this neck of the woods so it’s good advice to double-check before you go.

If you’re here for an extended stay or if you are a Coastie who just hasn’t learned yet, you might want to book some surfing lessons.

If surfing isn’t your thing this great suburb still has plenty to offer. Here are a few ideas: bushwalking at Brisbane Water National Park, stand-up paddleboarding at Wamberal Lagoon or throw a line in and do a spot or even take a massage at Anjule Beauty.

The Skillion

Speaking of the Haven, this is where you will find one of the Central Coasts largest landmarks. The Skillion has amazing views and it is definitely worth the climb to the top.

I’ll admit it, the walk isn’t for everyone. So if something gentler is more to your taste then Terrigal Haven won’t disappoint. Here you can still admire the gorgeous coastal landscape. Enjoy a picnic or grab a burger or some takeaway from the vast array of choices along the Esplanade.

If seafood is what you crave and you feel like something a little upmarket head over to the Reef Restaurant also located at the Haven. With views directly across the water, it’s a great place to enjoy a leisurely lunch.

And if throwing a line in excites you then check out the Terrigal fishing charters available. They depart from the Haven and are highly recommended, but you will need to book in advance.

Restaurants, Bars & Cafe’s – we’ve got it all

Terrigal has a vibrant nightlife with many restaurants staying open late into the evening seven days a week! Whether you want fine dining or prefer somewhere casual where you can watch a game onTV  – Terrigal has it covered.

Crowne Plaza Terrigal is the only hotel located directly opposite Terrigal Beach. It offers a range of luxurious rooms and suites, the award-winning Seasalt Restaurant, the Lord Ashley Bar and Lounge, and Terrigal Beach House.
